Rolls

Toho® Non-Tex Rolls
We are the only company in North America licensed to manufacture Toho Non-Tex surface conditioning rolls. Non-Tex, developed and patented in 1966, rapidly became the world standard for wringer rolls used by metal processors. Since its introduction, Toho has developed almost a dozen patented materials specifically designed to tackle challenging applications across the metals industry. From the processing of coil to finishing sheet, Toho consistently lasts longer and performs better than conventional rolls.

Precision engineered from synthetic fibers, Toho rolls last longer and perform more effectively than rubber or conventional fabric rolls. Their porous, resilient, self-healing structure resists cutting and gouging; delivers more consistent surface contact; handles production fluids more efficiently; and provides a higher coefficient of friction for better process control.

Superior performance
Toho Non-Tex rolls:
• Resilient; gouge and cut-resistant
• Porous, absorbent
• Easily repaired
• Self-healing
• High coefficient-of-friction
• Maintains close surface contact when wet

Rubber rolls:
• Noncompressable; subject to gouges and cuts
• Nonporous
• Nonrepairable
• Damage is permanent; cuts propagate
• Low coefficient-of-friction
• Hydroplanes when wet

Tailored for tubes
Made from the same high-performance Non-Tex material as our cylindrical rolls, PTM Tube Mill rolls are specially contoured for use as tube and pipe mill guide rolls, conveyor rolls, and carrier rolls.

A&AM® millboard furnace rolls
AKK has teamed up with A&AM to bring high-performance furnace rolls to North America. Famous for their outstanding longevity and non-marking properties, A&AM rolls are used by more than 70 percent of the stainless steel producers in the world. A&AM rolls are essential for producers of light-gauge stainless and other specialty metals.

Superior performance
Able to resist scale adherence at extreme temperatures, A&AM rolls will not mark stainless surfaces. And their high abrasion tolerance enables you to produce a variety of widths and gauges without premature roll wear. A&AM rolls outlast and outperform other millboard rolls, and cost less to operate per ton of steel.
